DS-2023 Form
The DS-2023 Form is a form that you fill out to get a visa interview. You can find the form online, or at your school’s office. The DS-2023 asks for information about you and your family (e.g., name, address, occupation). It also requests basic background information like:
- Your nationality
- Place of birth
- Date of birth
Proof of Financial Support
Proof of financial support is required for all students applying for an F1 visa. This letter must be on company letterhead, and it should state that the student will receive enough money to cover tuition, fees, and living expenses. If you are planning on using your parents’ income as proof of financial support, then you need a letter from them stating that they will be providing support for you during your stay in the U.S.
I-20 Form
An I-20 form is a document that the university issues to international students. It contains information about you, such as your name, date of birth, and citizenship status. The university uses this form to determine whether or not you are eligible for F1 visa status in the United States.
In order to get an I-20 form from your school’s international student office:
- Fill out an application online or in person at your school’s international student office with all required information (namely, passport number).
- Meet with an advisor if they require one-on-one counseling sessions before issuing any paperwork; this may be necessary if there are any questions regarding your academic history or finances
Passport sized Photograph(s)
- Passport Photographs: You must provide a standard passport-sized color photograph of yourself, taken within the last 6 months. The photograph should be a full-face view of the head and shoulders with a plain white or off-white background. You cannot have glasses on and you cannot wear hats in your photo.
- You will need to bring at least 2 passport-sized photos (1 inch by 1 inch) to your appointment.

GMAT/GRE/SAT scores
GMAT/GRE/SAT scores are required for the visa interview. These tests are the same in all countries, and you must send them to the school you are applying to. If you don’t have these scores yet, then you will need to take one or more of these tests before applying for a visa.
IELTS/TOEFL/PTE scores
You must submit your IELTS/TOEFL/PTE scores to the US Embassy in Kathmandu.

Official Transcripts
- Official transcripts must be sent to the school you are currently attending or have attended within the last three years.
- You must have an official transcript in English, which includes your name and date of birth.
- If your school does not provide these documents, they may be able to request them from another institution on your behalf.
